ERA experts reduce expenses for Long Island hospice by an average of 37%

Hospice Care Network can enhance its mission to care for the terminally ill

Like many healthcare facilities throughout the country, Hospice Care Network (HCN) was facing a challenging combination of reduced funding and increased government regulations. The hospice turned to experts with Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA), who found significant savings in several expenses.

  • Records Management

ERA Consultants toured off-site storage facilities within a serviceable distance. They wanted to ensure that any facility under consideration could provide HCN with adequate security and alarms; fire protection and prevention; technical support; vaults; and confidentiality. ERA also negotiated a contract with rate increases well below the historical rate the client paid.

  • Printing

As a result of ERA print experts’ thorough analysis, they issued an extremely detailed RFP “market basket” that included nearly 90% of HCN’s expenses by dollar volume. Industry knowledge also played a large role in reducing costs for brochures, business cards, stationery, invitations, forms and other printed materials.

  • Office Supplies

HCN was happy with its incumbent supplier. With their knowledge of the industry, analytical tools and benchmark pricing, ERA experts were able to negotiate a new contract with the incumbent with greatly improved pricing.
